Wildfowling is always carried out with a shotgun, normally a 12
bore. However, you still see guns of all types -ranging from antique
4, 8 and 10 bore muzzleloaders right through to the latest camouflage
finished 10 and 12g Automatics with magnum 3 ½” chambers.
The largest calibres and loads are normally reserved for use in
the pursuit of geese, due to their size and flying characteristics.
